Helen McCormack welcomes Dublin Bay Decision

Published: 6 August, 2010

Helen McCormack welcomed today's decision by An Bord Pleanala to refuse the Dublin Port application which would have involved the infill of 52 acres in Dublin Bay.
Citing the the threat to birds and other wildlife in one of Dublin's best loved amenity areas and fears about flooding, Helen said that the relief among residents and activist groups upon news of the decision was enormous. "Great credit must go to Sean Loftus who has campaigned for decades to protect our Bay. The level of work which he and groups such as Clontarf Residents' Association and Dublin Baywatch have put into this issue is immense and I would like to congratulate all those who contributed to this effort."
